CHOOSE WHAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU

Choose from two comprehensive six-week programs—Winter Program or Fall Program. You will be given a rare insight into the community through a series of intensive sessions held 3:00 - 9:00 p.m. consecutively over 6 weeks in various locations. The sessions include prominent speakers and an opportunity to interact with a variety of area leaders. You’ll be introduced and connected like never before to the arts, cultural heritage, economics, government, education and social services of the Knoxville region.

LEARN FROM THE LEADERS

Both six-week Introduction Knoxville Programs will include field trips, networking, prominent speakers and unique opportunities to connect with area leaders. Session topics include:

  • Exploring Knoxville’s History. At the welcome reception, meet prominent business and civic leaders.  Take a driving tour of this extraordinary city and learn how the region’s history impacts current issues and the community today.
  • The Political and Economic Community. Explore the inner workings of the state and local governments and understand the region’s economic structure.
  • The Educational Community. Learn ways to support the city’s public education community, from K-12 through higher education.
  • The Healthy and Caring Community. Discover how Knoxville effectively meets the social, safety, health and environmental needs of the community.
  • Innovation and Cooperation: A Regional View. Embrace East Tennessee’s rich natural and high tech resources—the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, TVA, the University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge installations—and how the impact and synergy of these partnerships strengthen our region.
  • The Arts and Cultural Community. Experience the richness of Knoxville’s arts and cultural community with dynamic demonstrations and a closing reception that will make you proud of our region’s bright future.
