Deputy Chief

Hometown: Lenoir City, TN

What is your vision for Knoxville 10 years from now?

Knoxville is growing by leaps and bounds and people are discovering we are a hidden gem. Currently we still hold somewhat a small town flavor, but the growing pains are surfacing on a daily basis. As a leader within the Knoxville Police department, I would like to continue forward with the positive relationship between government and community. We can learn from other previous fast growth municipalities and learn where the mistakes were made. I believe we have a general government that can establish this pattern and outshine cities comparable to Knoxville.

What is Knoxville’s Best Kept Secret?

Downtown after 6pm.

What would you do to strengthen Knoxville?

Never lose the image of Knoxville representing a hometown; safe and a place to raise a family!

What is your favorite Knoxville memory?

When Mayor Haslam rejuvenated downtown, I believe it placed Knoxville back on the map of recognition.

What is your favorite book or what book is currently on your nightstand?

I would say my favorite book is the Holy Bible teaching the ” Servant Leadership of Jesus Christ.”

What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?

Leave your current position better than you came into it!

What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?

There will be tough times along the way, but keep a positive attitude and push forward. You will be rewarded in the end!
