What is your vision for Knoxville 10 years from now?

To be a thriving city that embodies the best in our country. To have for-profits and nonprofits working together to do more, be more, and excel to the highest degrees.

What is Knoxville’s Best Kept Secret?

Its “big city” opportunities coupled with a “small town” atmosphere.

What would you do to strengthen Knoxville?

Seek overlapping engagement opportunities for non-profits to address the needs of the city.

What is your favorite Knoxville memory?

Serving not-for-profits with others.

What is your favorite book or what book is currently on your nightstand?

Good to Great (and the Good to Great and the Social Sectors) by Jim Collins.

What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?

Never say (or write) too many words when a few disciplined ones will do. Always display integrity and character. It’s not about me.

What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?

Be everything God intends for you to be.
