What is your vision for Knoxville 10 years from now?

My vision for Knoxville is that we have a community that is diverse and thriving! I want to see Knoxville grow into a community that prioritizes and invests in education and be a place that attracts our young people to stay so they can continue to change the world one community at a time.

Knoxville’s best kept secret is the staff and students at Sarah Moore Greene Magnet Academy! We are a school of passionate educators who positively impact the lives of our resilient students every day!

What would you do to strengthen Knoxville?

To strengthen Knoxville, I would create opportunities to increase diversity in leadership in public and private sectors in order to help debunk the idea that Knoxville is not inclusive.

What is your favorite Knoxville memory?

My favorite Knoxville memory is the time that I spent as an undergraduate student at The University of Tennessee.

What is your favorite book or what book is currently on your nightstand?

Atomic Habits is the book currently on my nightstand. It’s helping me focus on building better habits and breaking bad ones.

What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?

My grandmother, Dorothy Hitchcock would always tell me to always go to church and keep God first in everything that I do!

What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?

Be confident and believe in yourself. Be the change you wish to see in the world!
